is our true kayaking expedition destinations.
You will carry everything you need for your expedition
in your kayak and you will get to experience island
hopping at its best. You must be reasonably fit to participate
in this kayaking expedition. You need to be
experienced and you need to be able to paddle
for up to three hours at a time. The pace is
up to you, but you must be capable of exerting yourself.
The rewards are many.
Trang
is seasonal. During the tourist high season
(winter months), there are too many people and too much
noise. We only visit Trang during the low season (summer/autumn
months).
 This
is still a nice place in the tourist low season. Each
island holds its own charm. Each bungalow we stay in,
also has its own special quality. Our Trang kayaking
adventure tour packages take full advantage of some
of the most beautiful tropical islands in this southern
Thailand province.
Wildlife above and below water
There
is an opportunity for snorkeling
on the outer islands. A very wide variety of marine
life exists all over southern Thailand. We've seen massive
schools of flying fish rocketing out of the water in
front of us. You never know what to expect in Trang.
We've had a huge manta ray glide between our kayaks
in the middle of a one hour island crossing! It was
only about 3 to 4 feet under very clear water! We've
seen other rays
jumping as well as other fish.
This
area is not exactly remote, but it's not a touristy
destination during the summer months. Massive limestone
cliffs, monkeys calling, White-bellied sea eagles, and
night paddles make this trip one you'll remember for
a long time.
Flexible itineraries
PaddleAsia
offers flexible
individually-tailored daily agendas. If you want to
take it nice and slow, we'll do that. The island crossings
are even mildly fit. The crossings make you feel like
you've really accomplished something - and you have.
Most crossings are short crossings, about an hour to
an hour and a half each, but there's something very
special about using your body to get from point A to
point B. Some itineraries include much longer crossings.
Each
of our trip leaders has canoed extensively
in Trang. We know every inch of the most stunning islands.
There are many fine secluded tropical islands that you
can explore at your leisure in comfortable touring canoes.
In these areas, where only the occasional fisherman
is seen (during the low season), you can truly relax
and enjoy the natural beauty of the park.
The
bungalows that PaddleAsia employs are on
a different islands. Each day provides you with a new
island and a new bungalow. Each restaurant offer certain
special dishes. This is as much an eating tour as a
paddling adventure! The laid back quality of island
life is a welcomed relief from the busy life that many
of our guests live.
